We had a great opportunity to visit Venice, Florida recently, and while we were there we had five must-dine experiences. Since this was our initial foray into the area, these were are first experiences. We didn't have a bad one in the lot.
The Breakfast Cottage
Although our trip was to Venice, we found the...
Over the course of our travels, we've found the beaches of the Suncoast are difficult to beat. From Fort Myers to Sarasota there's a nearly continuous stretch of white sand and blue water. The beaches are teeming with shells, sharks teeth, fun and sun.
On a recent trip, we decided to work our way...
While looking for a great breakfast in Venice recently, we rediscovered the Original Word of Mouth. Actually, we'd found this place once before - the first time we visited "The Sharktooth Capital of the World." And just like the first time, we had a wonderful experience.
The Restaurant
The Venice location is the second Original Word of Mouth, causing me to...
When we started our review of the 12 Coasts of Florida, we began with The Emerald Coast. It stretches 100 miles from Pensacola to Panama City.
The Emerald Coast actually encompasses five different counties. These include; Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton and Bay counties. In the past, the coast has been known as...
When looking for fun things to do in New Smyrna Beach, a trip to the drug store was not high on our list. Then, we found the Little Drug Company - and that all changed. We found tons of cool things and a vintage soda fountain to boot!
The Little Drug Company has been in business for nearly a century. ...
When in search of a sweet place to shop and dine in Florida, Historic Cocoa Village is as good as any we have visited. To date, our stops have included historic downtown areas in the Sunshine State such as Melbourne, Bartow and Englewood. Each is wonderful in its own special way.
Located along...

We’re told that “Florida’s Forgotten Coast” is billed as “the
last remaining stretch of unspoiled, pristine Gulf Coast beaches that
haven’t been overrun by high rises and strip malls.” To us, it’s one of
the more interesting Coasts of Florida.
Florida’s Forgotten Coast encompasses that small notch of
coastline...
So we were on our way to wonderful Wabasso, when we spotted Rock City Gardens on Highway 1 - just north of Vero Beach. It looked fairly interesting from the road, but until we reviewed our "Things to Do," on TripAdvisor, we didn't know it qualified as an attraction.
When we stopped by, we found...
Recently we blogged about our trip to Delray Beach and their Green market. The experience inspired us to go back to the Sarasota Farmers' Market for what we think is probably the best of its kind in the State of Florida. At 40-years old, it certainly is one of the longest-lived in the Sunshine State.
