When it comes to a good lodging experience for the price, we have found that Microtel has been hard to beat. That was a recent experience we had at the Brooksville location when we went to Dade City for the Kumquat Festival.
It had been a challenge to find a room and we ended up with a suite. For the incremental difference in cost it was well worth the money. Rooms at Microtel usually are pretty tight but when we opened the door here, we were greeted with spacious accommodations.
Spacious Accommodations
There was a nice sitting sofa with an ottoman. It had a good view of the flat screen TV, It abutted a half wall which set it apart from the bedroom and also blocked the noise from the hallway. There also were his and hers work stations with convenient electrical plugs.
There also was a little breakfast bar in the corner of the room. It had a coffee maker, small sink, microwave and refrigerator. All the amenities were quite small, as in all Microtel locations – but they were fairly new and operated flawlessly.
There was a queen sized bed that also had a view of the TV. It was close to the floor-mounted heater/AC and there was a nice window seat had we chosen to use it.
They had great amenities too
As in the nearby Microtel at Weekie Wachie, this location had a good sized meeting room, an exercise room, as well as an outdoor barbecue grill and pool. But this place even has a bar! Admittedly, a half dozen people would oack the “Cork & Tap,” but it looked like a well-stocked little facility.
Our breakfast there was not bad either. They had the obligatory waffle maker, fresh fruit, cereal and a selection of breads. Beverages included coffee, milk and juice.
Our experience at this facility showed the staff to be friendly and fairly efficient. The room was clean and quiet. Overall, it was a nice stay. Our trip here further cemented the idea of Microtel being a solid choice for lodging.
