Perched along US 27 in the small central Florida community of Dundee, Davidson of Dundee is a wonderful attraction with great citrus candy. It also is a tasty throwback to the roadside stops of the Sunshine State in the 1950s and 60s. It is a simple layout, a single floor with rows and rows of candies, jams and other products that just scream Florida.
Although they ship LOTS of fresh fruit, their signature products are the jellies, marmalades and butters. The colorful jars and jellied candies come in flavors that are emblematic of the citrus industry that surrounds them.

It’s nostalgic and fun

Shoppers can enjoy orange, tangerine, honeybell and temple, as well as blends of orange/pineapple/cherry and orange/peach which they have nicknamed “Fuzzy Navel.” Their candies have been dubbed “citrus delicacies” with flavors like orange, lemon and key lime.

There are rows and rows of deliciousness here.

One of the best parts is that you actually can try the different flavors of candies, fudge (yes fudge), jams and marmalades to see which one you like the best. You can purchase them individually or in gift sets. Their products may be purchased in the best gift shops around Florida but the prices are the best here.

Yes, the samples are free but you’ll want some to take home.

Possibly the most compelling reason to visit Davidson’s of Dundee is the fact they not only make the citrus delicacies on the property, you actually can watch them do it.

There are large picture windows revealing the ladies who carefully make the mix then pour it into huge trays. They they then cut it into the tasty squares you’ll see on display, then sprinkle it with just the right amount of sugar. Only then are they ready for packaging.

Some delicacies ready with a couple sheets to be cut

Davidson’s of Dundee is a great place to find citrus jams, jellies and delicacies. You also can have fresh fruit shipped to anywhere in the world from the heart of Citrus Country. They also have great Florida souvenirs from baby palm trees to rubber alligators.
