Places to Stay

There are a lot of places to stay and a lot of different kinds of accommodations. There are overnighters while we are traveling and there are some which are destination points with a lot of amenities.

Here we will try and discuss some of the more fun and economical accommodations we have located in our travels.

Anyone who follows us, knows we have stayed in many hotel rooms, but recently we had the opportunity to enjoy a condo vacation - at beautiful Anna Maria Island no less. Sandy Hampton contacted us and offered to let us try her condo at the Bradenton Beach Club. Unit...
We were on one of our many forays to Florida's Atlantic Coast when we came across Waldo's at the Historic Driftwood Resort. Located in Vero Beach along the beautiful Treasure Coast, it was a wonderful experience in more ways than one. We first wrote about Waldo's Restaurant...
We'd always heard about the St. John's River, but never visited. This past weekend changed all that. Earlier we blogged about our trip to Deland. That was a great time and we vowed to return. As we made good on our pledge it led us to the St. John's River,...
Recently we had a chance to get back to Siesta Key. In the past it was voted America's #1 Beach. There, we enjoyed our second stay at a little retro place called Captiva. It's one of a group of lodging facilities on Sara Sea Circle, The facility has...
In the past we have discussed staying off-site as a means of saving money. We also have found it can save time and effort as well. We were on a mission to pick up relatives at Orlando International Airport and decided that instead of fighting holiday traffic on I-4, we decided to find a nearby...
We have stayed at a couple of Best Western Motels in the past. There even were a couple of former Best Westerns that had been converted under the Baymont flag. For the most part they were OK, but in the long run were not that great. Our stay at...
It's been months in the making. Now, like a butterfly, Seven-The Sebring Raceway Hotel has emerged just in time for Race Week. The place was painted Sebring Blue earlier this year. The entrance sign now beckons visitors. The hotel was christened just in time for the beginning of...
Tucked back off the Highway, it's a nice little property.
Valentine's Day is on the way. That got Mrs. Funmeister and myself thinking about the most romantic vacation destinations we have visited since we started crisscrossing the Sunshine State. There have been quite a few that have come to mind. And not all for the same reasons. ...
Generally when we travel, Mrs Funmeister and I like to explore new things. And that includes places to stay.   However, we have started to find locations in some of our favorite spots that have become go-to options. That is, places we have found that we can count on. Reliable choices for dining, exploring...
