Places to Stay

There are a lot of places to stay and a lot of different kinds of accommodations. There are overnighters while we are traveling and there are some which are destination points with a lot of amenities.

Here we will try and discuss some of the more fun and economical accommodations we have located in our travels.

Those who follow us know we always are looking to get the best deal on our hotel and we found the Holiday Inn Boca Raton North really fit the bill. Our plan was to combine a business outing with a vacation. We searched the Treasure Coast and found this place on TripAdvisor. A Lot For Your Money ...
In the past we have stayed at many chain hotels. Most of the time we had flags we trusted where we also could earn points. However, lately we have tried some boutique hotels. The latest is the Inn at the Beach Venice - which proved to be a wonderful experience. A "Boutique...
So we first tried Dimitri's on the Water in Tarpon Springs last November when we were there for Thanksgiving. This time however, we were staying off site as we'd been invited to a reception for the Tampa Boat Show. With all due respect, we didn't want to stay in The Big Guava - and Tarpon Springs is...
Our recent trip to Indian Rocks Beach showed us that IRB makes for a great getaway on the Florida Gulf Coast. Like our opportunity to stay at a condo at Anna Maria Island, this also was a condo experience. Our Place Our stay at the Da Vinci at Indian Rocks Beach cemented our opinion that...
Anyone who follows us, knows we have stayed in many hotel rooms, but recently we had the opportunity to enjoy a condo vacation - at beautiful Anna Maria Island no less. Sandy Hampton contacted us and offered to let us try her condo at the Bradenton Beach Club. Unit 226 was handled by Seabreeze Vacations....
We were on one of our many forays to Florida's Atlantic Coast when we came across Waldo's at the Historic Driftwood Resort. Located in Vero Beach along the beautiful Treasure Coast, it was a wonderful experience in more ways than one. We first wrote about Waldo's Restaurant & Lounge in our blog about...
We'd always heard about the St John's River, but never visited. This past weekend changed all that. Earlier we blogged about our trip to Deland. That was a great time and we vowed to return. As we made good on our pledge it led us to the St John's River, It was one of the most...
Recently we had a chance to get back to Siesta Key. In the past it was voted America's #1 Beach. There, we enjoyed our second stay at a little retro place called Captiva. It's one of a group of lodging facilities on Sara Sea Circle, The facility has the feel of a 1960's-style motel...
In the past we have discussed staying off-site as a means of saving money. We also have found it can save time and effort as well. We were on a mission to pick up relatives at Orlando International Airport and decided that instead of fighting holiday traffic on I-4, we decided to find a nearby hotel. ...
We have stayed at a couple of Best Western Motels in the past. There even were a couple of former Best Westerns that had been converted under the Baymont flag. For the most part they were OK, but in the long run were not that great. Our stay at the Best Western Plus Ambassador Suites...
